Description

Applauded as “the world’s reigning male chorus” by The New Yorker, San Francisco-based Grammy Award-winning ensemble Chanticleer presents a newly-commissioned masterpiece from composer Nico Muhly, one of the most highly-regarded young American composers of our time. Praised by the San Francisco Chronicle for its “tonal luxuriance and crisply etched clarity,” Chanticleer is known around the world as “an orchestra of voices” for its seamless blend of 12 male voices ranging from soprano to bass, and its original interpretations of vocal literature from Renaissance to jazz, pop, and contemporary compositions. This powerful collaborative project, written especially for Chanticleer, church pipe organ, and a large SATB chorus, will feature The Santa Fe Symphony Chorus and internationally-renowned organist Maxine Thévenot.

Presented through the generosity of David McNeel in Memory of Calvin Remsberg.
