Performance Santa Fe presents a gorgeous afternoon with the stars of Capriccio!
Join “lyric tenor of considerable beauty and sensitivity” (Seen and Heard International) Ben Bliss and “rich, manly baritone” (Opera Today) Joshua Hopkins for a magnificent recital with Joseph Illick at the piano. Both men will be in Santa Fe this summer for roles as dueling suitors in Strauss’ witty Capriccio.
Canadian Joshua Hopkins, praised for his “velvety” (Wall Street Journal) performance as Nardo in La Finta Giardiniera last season at the Santa Fe Opera, has made a name for himself in productions with the Canadian Opera Company, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Metropolitan Opera. Ben Bliss, praised for his “arresting arsenal of lyricism and florid ease” (Opera News), has recently performed with the Metropolitan Opera, the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Glyndeborne Festival. What could be better than listening to two such accomplished artists compete for your listening pleasure?
