Performance Santa Fe presents Classics and Cabaret from an incredible young star!
The last time Leah Crocetto came to Santa Fe, critics hailed her “precisely articulated passagework and vivid, big-voiced authority” (Santa Fe Reporter) as “gleaming” (The New York Times). That performance, as Anna in Maometto II, helped catapult her to international fame. Since then, Crocetto has performed with the San Francisco Opera, the English National Opera, and the Washington National Opera, and is about to make her Metropolitan Opera debut.
Crocetto, a Connecticut native, grew up listening to Pavarotti with her Italian-American family. Crocetto returns to the Santa Fe Opera this summer as another Anna – this time the noble Donna Anna in Don Giovanni. You won’t want to miss the “extraordinary” and “regal” (SFGate.com) grand prize winner of the 2010 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in recital! Ms. Crocetto will be accompanied by pianist Tamara Sanikidze.
