Performance Santa Fe is proud to welcome the Takács Quartet to St. Francis Auditorium on April 16. Considered one of the greatest chamber music ensembles in the world, and the first string quartet to win the Wigmore Hall Medal on May 10, 2014 after having been appointed the first-ever Associate Artists at Wigmore in 2012, the Takács Quartet plays with overwhelming intensity.
A rich program of Beethoven, the fiery “Emperor” Quartet by Haydn, and a specially commissioned work by Carter Pann will surely beguile the audience.

“The consummate artistry of the Takács is simply breathtaking.” —The Guardian, London

“In the F major ‘Razumovsky’ Quartet (Op. 59, No. 1), the Takács’ sound seemed newly alive, its vision taking on symphonic breadth.” —The New York Times

In a lively and funny TED talk, first violinist Edward Dusinberre tells how the quartet balances the need for individual space and expression within an intense group activity: TEDxVail
