Performance Santa Fe presents The Hot Sardines!

Praised as “the charismatic frontrunners of vintage jazz” (The Guardian), The Hot Sardines are jolting back to life the kind of music Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and Django Reinhardt used to make: foot-stomping, “hot jazz” of decades past. With the intoxicating sounds of a roaring three-man horn section, lilting voice of a one-of-the-boys chanteuse, and even rollicking rhythms of a tap dancer, The New-York-based jazz octet successfully channels a near-century-old genre while managing to create “a sound and a style that are distinctly their own” (Vanity Fair).
The Hot Sardines return to Santa Fe with an energetic holiday program that masterfully infuses yuletide classics with the sounds of early American jazz. Audiences are invited to jumpstart their holiday revelry with the “crisp musicianship” and “immaculate and witty showmanship” (The Times, London) that The Hot Sardines have become known for.
