Born in Los Alamos, trumpeter Greg Heltman taught trumpet in Venezuela and Israel before eventually settling in Santa Fe. He founded the Santa Fe Symphony in 1984 and served as their Executive Director for 34 years. He has played with the Stockton Symphony, the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, the Santa Fe Opera, and served as principal trumpet and Assistant Orchestra Manager with the Hidden Valley Chamber and Opera Orchestra. He joined Performance Santa Fe as a teaching artist in 2023.
