Venice Baroque Orchestra

Performance Santa Fe presents the Venice Baroque Orchestra!
Since 1997, the Venice Baroque Orchestra has been reviving masterpieces from the 17th and 18th centuries with “vibrant, even daring interpretations” (NPR) under the guidance of Italian harpsichordist and Baroque scholar Andrea Marcon. Today, the group is recognized as one of the greatest period-instrument ensembles, receiving much acclaim for both its on-stage virtuosity and its many recordings, which have been released under the world’s leading classical labels. “This is clearly an orchestra with no limits to its virtuosity” (Toronto Concert Reviews).
Recorder virtuoso Anna Fusek will join the major-league ensemble in Santa Fe for a program largely dedicated to works by Antonio Vivaldi, a Baroque composer with whom the players of VBO are especially well-versed.
