Russian pianist Daniil Trifonov first skyrocketed to fame in 2011 after winning both First Prize and Grand Prix at the prestigious Tchaikovsky Competition. In 2013 he made his professional Carnegie Hall recital debut with a performance that left audiences stunned and earned him his first Grammy nomination for the live recording Trifonov: The Carnegie Recital. The trajectory of the young pianist and composer’s career has since been nothing short of a fiery ascent. Now, at just 26 years old, Trifonov has an incredible string of honors to his name, including two Grammy nominations, one Grammy award, and Gramophone’s Artist of the Year award. The world is hailing him as “an heir to Liszt” (The Washington Post), an artist with “more than mere virtuosity” (New York Times), and “without question the most astounding pianist of our age” (The Times, London).
