Daniel Ulbricht, “brilliant” (Dance Magazine) principal dancer for New York City Ballet, formed what was to become the Stars of American Ballet in 2008. The Stars of American Ballet features principals and soloists from New York City Ballet and often includes topmost dancers from other companies such as American Ballet Theatre and Pennsylvania Ballet. This dynamic troupe performs with “artistry and athleticism” and brings world-class ballet to cities that do not often host ballet performances. The company also focuses on community outreach and will offer a master class in Santa Fe.
The “absorbingly sinuous” (The New York Times) dancers execute a diverse repertoire—from Balanchine to boogie—with skill and panache in two different programs on two evenings.
Watch Daniel Ulbricht dance a Piazzolla tango.
